the.life.project is pleased to announce that Shaun King, lead pastor of Courageous Church in Atlanta Georgia has joined the conversation in our blog community.  Shaun will be a regular contributor to the conversation as we live the God life Adventure as,  real people, real faith real God.

Who is Shaun King?

        Originally from Versailles, Kentucky and moved to downtown Atlanta in 1997 to attend Morehouse College.  It was as a student there that Shaun developed a real passion for his city and discovered what it means to be a courageous leader.  After serving as Student Government President at Morehouse, he really considered a career in politics or business, but he didn't want to steal Barack Obama's thunder.  Instead, he worked as a full-time motivational speaker for several award-winning non-profits and specialized in speaking to inner-city and incarcerated youth throughout Georgia.  “I have nearly died a few times and am pretty sure that my zeal for life comes from knowing that tomorrow is not promised.  I came really close to starting a church in downtown Atlanta in 2004, but decided to wait after having the opportunity to join the pastoral staff of a great church in suburban Atlanta where I served as a church planter and webmaster for three years” says Shaun.

Shaun is an avid blogger, a pretty big UFC fan, and still naive and green enough to believe that a few courageous people can turn the world upside down (Read Acts 17:6)

He met his wife Rai (pronounced Ray) when they were in high school and have been joined at the hip every since.  “She is my best friend and I love her like crazy!” Says Shaun  Rai graduated from Spelman College in downtown Atlanta and has been a celebrated elementary school teacher for several years.  She has a gift for educating and training children and hopes to continue finding new ways to express this passion in the years ahead.  She regularly whoops Shaun’s butt in scrabble, loves a good book, serves as the brakes to his gas pedal, and is a phenomenal mother to all of their children

Shaun an Rai currently have 5 kids (the number grows often)!
